Broker Participant Membership

Licensed Real Estate Brokers in the state of Virginia and contiguous states are eligible for membership, provided they are actively engaged in brokerage activities as defined in § 54.1-2100 of the code of Virginia. Entities whose sole or primary business is the referral of listings, or sales or distribution of REIN information to other entities, are not eligible for membership in REIN.

Broker Membership Service includes:

  • Access to MLS Database
  • Access to All Contracts, Addenda, and Forms
  • One Property Photo Supplied by REIN Photographers
  • Listing Input Capabilities
  • Training on MLS Systems
  • Delivery of Forms & Notices to Offices within REIN's Service Area

REIN's Delivery and Photo Service Areas:

  • Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Smithfield, Franklin, Windsor, Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, Yorktown, Williamsburg, Gloucester
  • Counties of Isle of Wight, Southampton, Surry, Sussex, York and James City
  • All other areas are serviced by mail

All Licensed Real Estate Brokers interested in REIN Membership should complete the following steps:
  1. Obtain a Broker Participant Membership application and related documents by completing the Pre-Application Form.
  2. Submit the completed application, license agreement, and ID assignment form along with payment of $832.50 to cover the following:
  • $250 Application fee (non-refundable)
  • $500 License Agreement fee (non-refundable)
  • $82.50 One Quarterly fee for Principal Broker

All applications are processed at REIN's monthly Board of Directors meeting. Applications must be received at REIN's Virginia Beach office 10 days prior to the BOD meeting to be included for that month's agenda. Please refer to the following 2008 BOD schedule and application deadlines:

Due to the time sensitive nature of the verification process, any application received after 5:00 pm on the day of the application deadline will be processed the following month.

Applicants will be notified 24-48 hours after the BOD meeting and will be scheduled to attend a New Broker Introduction. Attendance at one of the following sessions is required:
